I realized today that Independence Day is just around the corner, so I put together a patriotic wreath using some burlap I picked up at the store a while ago. This is my first time making a burlap wreath like this. I've made a burlap rag wreath which I love, so I was really looking forward to giving this type of burlap wreath a try.
The anchor burlap is my favorite, of course! After I'm done with this post, I'm going to the store to see if the anchor burlap is still there, so I can make a wreath for my son's bedroom door. I had actually fallen out of love with wreath making, but I think this wreath rekindled my love for making wreaths again!
While I was weaving the burlap through the wire wreath form, I had a visit from my little guy.
To make this wreath, I followed instructions in this How to Make a Burlap Wreath video on YouTube.
I tied the bow onto the bottom of the wreath.
But then I decided to add a star to the center of the bow.
I love the star. It has a primitive/rustic vibe. This wreath is now on our front door. We're ready for the 4th of July.
This wreath is gorgeous! You have captured the american spirit. I admire your crafting skills. thank you for sharing this lovely wreath at DI&DI. Happy 4th.

Deletewhere do you find all the cool stuff you use? I searched all over and best thing I found was some red striped burlap. I am so jealous! Great wreath btw! awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I find most of my craft supplies at Micheal's, Joann's, or Walmart. I bought the burlap ribbon for this wreath at Walmart. :-)
