Back in August, one of my favorite crochet designers Sarah at Repeat Crafter Me shared a pattern for a
Unicorn Snuggle Sack. When I saw her Unicorn Snuggle Sack, I knew I had to make one for my daughter. So I crocheted the snuggle sack and finished it just in time for my daughter's 6th birthday.
I took her to the local Joann store to pick out some yarn, and she chose Buttercream Luxe Craft Angel Hair yarn in Pink & Gray. It was on clearance, so I ended up going back to the store and buying all that they had left since I realized I would need a lot for this project. I also bought white and silver Buttercream Luxe Craft yarn for this project. I used the white for the unicorn's mane and the silver for the horn.
Sarah (Repeat Crafter Me) used Bernat Blanket Yarn for this project, but I used the Buttercream Luxe Craft yarn my daughter picked out. I like this yarn, but it is a little fuzzy.
Here's a close up. It's fuzzy, but soft. The yarn is a wool blend.
After I finished crocheting the body of the snuggle sack, I used the white yarn to crochet the unicorn's mane.
After I finished the mane, I made the unicorn's horn with the silver yarn and stuffed it with some Polyfil.
The unicorn also has a cute little heart, face, and adorable eyelashes.
My daughter loves her snuggle sack, and she often sleeps in it on top of her bed. Or she uses it as a blanket. This was a very fun and fairly easy crochet project.
You are so talented, and I love the colors you chose! I wish I could knit or crochet! I knitted some dish cloths years ago, but can't remember all the steps now. Pinning!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Sometimes, I try to knit... That doesn't always go well! lol Thanks so much for stopping by and for pinning! :-)
DeleteThat's so clever, something unicorn things can look cute but be impractical. You've made something useable but also magical/unicorny!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! My daughter loves to snuggle in her snuggle sack!
