I was so glad to find this chair for only $7.99! It's real wood and sturdy.
At first, I painted it white with FolkArt Home Décor Chalk Paint.. But then I decided that that was kinda boring, so I added more color! My daughter has a Wonder Woman themed room, and I've been painting her furniture red, white, blue, and yellow to match the theme.
The paints I've been using to paint her furniture are: DecoArt Americana Decor in Ladybug (red), DecoArt Americana Decor in Picket Fence (white), DecoArt Americana Decor in Morning Glory (blue), Waverly Inspirations Chalk in Maize (yellow), Folk Art Home Decor Chalk in Sheepskin (white), and Waverly Inspirations Matte Varnish.
I painted the seat blue, and then added yellow and red. I ended up painting the middle of the back of the chair red instead of yellow.
I decided that I wanted to add stars to the blue seat. After struggling to make stars without a stencil (I can't draw... not that great at painting either...) I decided to get a stencil. I live in a small town, and this was the only star stencil I could find. So I made it work.
Ta-Da! The chair is finished drying and ready to join the rest of the furniture in my daughter's Wonder Woman themed room.
Here's my daughter's dresser...
Here's the chair with the dresser...
Here's my daughter's vanity and the chair...
And this is the super cute Wonder Woman bedding I found.
And I found Wonder Woman curtains!
And here's the chair with her desk. I painted the desk white about a week ago. I love the rose drawer pulls.
The chair and desk are now ready for use. My daughter enjoys sitting at her desk drawing pictures and writing stories. She totally approved of Mommy's paint job. Yay! 😊
