Christmas is just around the corner, so to get into the Christmas spirit, I decided to crochet a Christmas Tree Hat. I just love this fun and festive hat! The pattern (by HelloHappy) worked up pretty fast, and I even got to add sparkly mini pom poms and a little bell!
I just had to use my llama yarn bowl. The green yarn I used is Vanna's Choice Kelly Green. I started with a Clover 4.5 mm hook, but I crochet tight, so I switched to a Clover H/5mm hook.
I think Vanna's Choice Kelly Green is the perfect shade of green for a Christmas tree.
After crocheting the green part of the tree with Vanna's Choice Kelly Green, I use Vanna's Choice Chocolate for the brown rows. This hat has present-shaped earflaps, which I crocheted with Vanna's Choice Scarlet and Vanna's Choice Lemon. I also made the star with Vanna's Choice Lemon.
I used some sparkly mini pom poms from my craft supply stash to decorate the tree hat. I attached them with fabric glue.
I stitched the star to the top of the hat and added a small green bell.
I stitched the earflap presents onto the hat.
Lastly, I added braided ties to the hat.
And now it's ready to wear! This hat is available in my Etsy shop.
This hat was really fun to make, and I'm sharing for the Happy Holidays Link Party! I hope you'll check out the link party and share your own crafty holiday creations!!!
What a fun and cute hat for the holidays, T'onna!
ReplyDeleteI love this cute Christmas tree hat; it's so bright and cheerful with the red and green yard with pops of yellow!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness that is so cute. The ear flaps are the sweetest thing!
ReplyDeleteWhen it's worn does it stand up like a tree or flop over more like a santa hat? I imagine flopped over would be more practical for getting through doorways, into cars etc!
What a fun project to crochet!
ReplyDeleteThat is darling!! Those ear flaps are so cute.
