Crochet Frozen Easter Basket

So Easter is TOMORROW, and last night I finally finished my daughter's Easter basket for all her new Frozen goodies. Last week, I sewed a fabric Frozen Easter Egg Basket for her using purple Frozen fabric, and she used that basket for the Easter egg hunt we attended, which was so much fun, and she made a new friend.  We had a playdate at her new friend's house, and her mom put together another egg hunt, which was super fun! She had a bubble machine, so the bubbles floated through the air while the kids ran around the yard scooping up the eggs. Anyhoo... Here's the crochet Frozen inspired basket...

I created this basket using Caron Simply Soft Blue Mint yarn. To make the basket thick, I crocheted with three skeins at the same time.

I made a braid using Caron Simply Soft Off White yarn and sewed it onto the basket's handle. I added glittery, white snowflake buttons to the braid.

I recently made a couple granny square pillows with circles inside the square. I had a few extra circles left, and I thought this one would look great on the basket. I added a snowflake button to the center.

Okay so.... Let's talk about what's INSIDE this basket... This somewhat large basket...

One afternoon, as soon as my husband got home from work, I dashed out the door and went to the toy store. I found this Elsa doll, two packs of Frozen stickers, Frozen nail polish & lip gloss, and a Frozen ring & necklace set. When I returned home and showed my husband all the fun Frozen things I bought, he said I was treating Easter like it's Christmas! Haha!

I found this Frozen book set and musical book on Zulily, one of my favorite sites to shop.

My mom sent my daughter some princess stickers with her Easter box, which also included an Elsa blanket. The blanket isn't in the basket because Grandma (my mother) insisted that I give her granddaughter her blanket right away. Anyhoo, I made a trip to the Dollar Tree and purchased the bunny eggs, sidewalk chalk, cotton candy, Doc McStuffins bubbles, and a fun sticker book. The eggs have mostly Smarties, Hershey's Kisses, and Sixlets in them. Yummy!

Here's the blanket my mom bought for my daughter. She loves it! She's always wrapped up in it.

My daughter really loves her fabric Frozen Easter basket, so I hope she'll love this crochet one as well. I know for sure that she will love the Frozen books, Elsa doll, stickers, and candy!

  3. I like to crochet baskets, I typically don't put handles on mine. Yours is fantastic. Thanks for linking up with Creatively Crafty Easter Party.
