Candy Corn Mug Rugs

For special occasions, I like to send handmade gifts to my close family and friends. So for my mother's birthday, I sent her some candy corn mug rugs. My mom likes when I make stuff for her, and I know she likes candy corn. I like making owls, so I made one shaped like an owl, and the other is shaped like candy corn.

I made a trip to JoAnn for some yellow, orange, white, and candy corn fabric. I put the fabric that I used for the mug rugs in my caddy.  

I used candy corn fabric for the backing and I wrapped it around to create a candy corn border instead of using bias tape.

I like the candy corn eyes and beak. I used candy corn fabric for the wings and the back.

The wings are pockets.

I sent these mug rugs to my mom, and she loved them. Yay!
