Candy Corn Messy Bun Beanie

Welcome to the October Pinterest Challenge Blog HopThe purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate all the participants of this hop (and you too) to not just pin, but to make it happen! Since it's Fall y'all, and Halloween is just around the corner, I'm sharing a Candy Corn Messy Bun Beanie I made for my daughter. I was inspired by a Pin of the Delaney Hat Pattern I found on Pinterest.
To create this hat, I followed the pattern for the Delaney Hat by Danyel Pink, and I used Caron Simply Soft Sunshine, Caron Simply Soft Pumpkin, and Caron Simply Soft White yarn.

I followed the pattern for the Delaney Hat, but I decided to add a crochet drawstring to make it a messy bun beanie.

The bun or ponytail will come out the middle of the spirals.

I love the spirals!

I think having spirals  around your ponytail or bun is fun and cute!

My daughter wearing her Candy Corn Messy Bun Beanie. She asked for matching gloves, so of course I made them!

Here are the gloves I made in candy corn colors to match the hat.

The hat and the gloves are a perfect set!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Candy Corn Messy Bun Beanie!

  1. Tonna, everytime I see one of your handmade projects I sigh -- oh to have your skill and creativity with yarn!

  2. Your daughter is so lucky! I love this idea of a messy bun beanie. I have a hard time wearing hats in the winter with all my hair but if I had a hat that I could pull a bun or pony tail through that would be perfect and I just love these added crochet curls at the top. Pinned.

    1. Thank you! I'll keep making her stuff as long as she asks for it. I know as kids grow older, they no longer think things made by mommy are cool. So I'm enjoying this time that she loves everything I make and thinks it's cool. 😁

  10. You are so talented and clever. Love how versatile this darling hat is with a bun peaking out or a pony tail. And the matching gloves are just adorable. Where I am working now there is no heat or AC! They tell me that in the middle of winter it is pretty darn cold in there. My job is to post items onto eBay so those fingerless gloves are just what I am going to need. And maybe a space heater!

    1. Thanks! I hope it doesn't get too cold for you at work. I'm going to make some adult sized fingerless glove for my Etsy shop soon. 😊

  12. Every time I see those beanies with a hole for a bun or ponytail I wish I had long hair. But I guess that's not gonna happen, as I have a pixie since I was 9 years old. Lol. I love how you added those cute curls and those wrist warmers are great, too. I am currently crocheting a set for Markus as he has to be at the trainstation in the early hours and it is starting to get cold here in Germany.
