As a mom of 2, one of my favorite things to do is decorating my kids' rooms. My son's nursery had a nautical theme, but once he became a big boy (toddler), I changed his room to a Spiderman theme. So he needed a new crochet blanket, and Bernat Bundle Brights had the perfect colorway, Superhero.
I bought many balls of this yarn. I don't remember exactly how many I used to make a twin sized blanket, but I believe it took about 9 or 10 balls/skeins.
I crocheted this blanket with the C2C (Corner to Corner) stitch. I learned this stitch by watching a video on YouTube.
I like making corner to corner blankets with this chunky yarn because they work up really fast. I used a size L/8.00mm Clover crochet hook.
For the border of the blanket, I did a round of single crochets and the a round f reverse single crochets with Bernat Softee Chunky in Black.
Here is the completed blanket. It drapes over the twin sized bed.
His room was transitioning from nautical to Spiderman...
We actually moved to another home (we're a military family), so once we moved I went all out with the Spiderman decor. He even got a new Spiderman bed! I love this bed because it looks like Spiderman is coming out of it! I also like that it has the rails, which can be taken off.
I enjoyed making the blanket so much that I made another for my daughter, but for this one I added in Bernat Blanket Brights in School Bus Yellow. She has a Wonder Woman themed room, so adding the yellow makes it go perfectly with her room.
I added a reverse single crochet border to this blanket, too.
I love the random color changes.
This blanket is also a twin sized blanket.

Wow Tonna, that blanket is amazing and so fun to make in chunky yarn. Thanks for sharing on craft schooling Sunday, great to reconnect in 2019!
