Welcome to the Craft Destash Challenge Blog Hop! As a crocheter with over 800 skeins of yarn, I love participating in crafty destash challenges. My blogging friends and I are using supplies from our stashes to make crafty creations for this blog hop. I'm sharing another cactus scarf because I've been working on using up my green yarn by making several Flowering Cactus Scarves (pattern by HelloHappyCrafts). For this one, I used a variegated green yarn for the cactus and decorated it with pink flowers.
This scarf project was fueled by my favorite ice cream, Pink Bubblegum ice cream. This variegated yarn is my favorite yarn to use to make cactus scarves. It is Red Heart Super Saver Green Tones. The terracotta pot was crocheted with a yarn colorway that's actually named Terracotta! I use it for the flower pots on all my cactus scarves.
I crocheted this scarf with a size 4.5mm Clover crochet hook. Clover is my favorite crochet hook brand. And I got a new yarn bowl for my birthday! I love it! It even has my name on it!!!
Pink flowers + pink bubblegum ice cream = Pink overload!
Once I finished crocheting the cactus, I crocheted nine pink flowers with Vanna's Choice Pink yarn.
I stitched the flowers onto the scarf and attached light green embroidery floss throughout the scarf to represent cactus spines.
The scarf is complete!
I have slight obsession with cacti and Rae Dunn... 😄 Thanks for checking out my latest Cactus Scarf! I still have a lot more green yarn, so I have several more cactus scarves to make to use up all my green yarn. Anyhoo... Scroll down to check out with my friends made using supplies from their craft supply stash.
