Welcome to the November Craft Room De-Stash Challenge! This month I'm sharing a Crochet Turkey Flag that I made as part of my Thanksgiving decor. I'm trying so hard to give Thanksgiving it's time and not rush into decorating for Christmas! I really want to decorate for Christmas! I love Christmas! Anyway, back to Thanksgiving and this crochet turkey... The pattern (Tom Turkey Decor) is by one of my favorite crochet designers Snappy Tots. Snappy Tots has some awesomely fun patterns, and they're pretty easy to follow. Tom Turkey can be used as a garden flag, wall hanging, placemat, or even a basket. At first, I was going to use it as a garden flag, but then I decided to hang it inside.
For this project, I used Vanna's Choice Chocolate, Vanna's Choice Honey, Vanna's Choice Scarlet, Vanna's Choice Cranberry, Vanna's Choice Rust, Vanna's Choice Terracotta, Vanna's Choice Mustard, and Vanna's Choice Lemon.
I added the face. The pattern says to use small black buttons for the eyes, but I used mini pom poms instead.
I used Vanna's Choice Chocolate and Vanna's Choice Terracotta for the middle body.
Crocheting the feathers was fun!
I used Vanna's Choice Chocolate to whip stitch the feathers together.
I crocheted the legs and feet with Vanna's Choice Mustard and Vanna's Choice Lemon.
I made a tie with Vanna's Choice Taupe. The pattern says to start the tie with a chain of 25, but I made a chain of 85.
He has hair! Isn't he handsome!
After stitching all the parts together, I added three hangers on the back.
All done and ready to hang!
The turkey is hanging up in my living room. My kiddos love him! Thanks so much for checking out my turkey! ↡Scroll down to see what the other crafters have created from their craft supply stashes!↡
Every month a group of bloggers are challenged by C'mon Get Crafty to create a new craft or project from their own stash of goodies! Everyone is allowed a $10 allowance for necessities to complete their project (i.e. paint brushes, glue, etc), but the bulk of it must be created from their own stash of goodies.
