Crochet Cactus Gnome for Spring Tiered Tray

Welcome to the February Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop, hosted by My Pinterventures
In case you're new to the blog, the purpose of the Pinterest Challenge is to motivate all the participants (and you too) to not just pin, but to make it happen! This month's challenge is about Spring Crafts/DIY Projects, so I chose to create a Crochet Cactus Gnome to add to my Spring themed tiered tray. To create my little gnome friend, I searched Pinterest and found a pin for the Crochet Nordic Gnome. This gnome pattern was quick and easy to make. There's even a video!

I decided to make my gnome a cactus themed gnome. First, I crocheted the gnome's body with Vanna's Choice Terracotta yarn. I stuffed it with some Poly-Fil

I followed the pattern to create the hat. I used Vanna's Choice Fern yarn. I also made the nose with Red Heart Soft Chocolate.

I created this gnome on Valentine's Day, so I decided to snack on the yummy chocolate strawberries my husband got me. And I had to use my gnome mug.

I attached the nose to the hat.

I slipped the hat over the body of the gnome.

I used fun fur to create a beard for the gnome.

I added cactus spines using embroidery floss and a pompom made with Caron Simply Soft Strawberry yarn.

The gnome is now on the top tier of my tiered tray, which I've decorated for Spring. I have a bunch of stuff on the tray, including my Crochet Flowering Cacti, Rae Dunn planters and mugs, and my Let It Bloom Book Stack.

Thanks for checking out my crochet gnome! Scroll down to see what the others have created below!
