Welcome to the June Pinterest Challenge! The purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate us to not just pin, but to make it happen! For this month's challenge, we're sharing crafty creations related to Summer Fun. Here in WA, the weather is... weird. It was rainy and gloomy today, but I'm getting my porch ready for summer. I know summer is coming... eventually! Yesterday, I shared a Crochet Coastline Cushion that I made for my porch, and today I'm sharing a Lemon Slice Pillow that I also made for the porch. I was inspired by this Pin of A Crafty Concept's Crochet Lemon Pillow.
I crocheted this pillow using Red Heart Soft White and Red Heart With Love Daffodil and a 4mm/G crochet hook. I also used my Unicorn Scissors and Cat Yarn Bowl. I followed the patterned and created the front side of the pillow first. I did decided to crochet with double crochets inside of single crochets, and I used a pillow form to stuff the pillow.
the back side... The pattern says to leave a long tail for attaching the peel piece, so I did and wrapped it using a skein saver.
I created the yellow triangles as instructed by the pattern.
The pattern says to add the triangles after the front and back of the pillow are all sewn together, but I decided to sew on the triangle before sewing the front and back together and stuffing the pillow.
I crocheted the peel.
Then I single crocheted the peel to the front and back pieces and stuff the pillow with the pillow form.

I think the lemon pillow and the Coastline Cushion look great together.
My porch decor so far....

DeleteIt's so pretty! I love your lemon cushion! I've seen crochet lemon clutch bags that are like a half lemon and I thought they were really cute, but I'm not sure if I would use them. A cushion for summer seems much more practical somehow :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! A lemon clutch sounds cute!
DeleteAnother super cute pillow! I just love your navy chairs too.

DeleteThis is such a fun pillow. I should really re-learn how to crochet so I can make some of your adorable projects. #HomeMattersParty
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was fun to make!
DeleteSuch a bright, cheery piece! Perfect decor for the porch. Do you keep your pillows out all the time? Or only when you're going to go out. I'm wondering how they hold up outside to the moisture and such.

Thanks! I do not keep them outside all the time. They've been hanging out on a chair in my craft room. lol
DeleteOh my goodness that is so adorable! I love lemons - I once saw a lemon slice welcome mat and I'm so sad I didn't buy it.
