Crochet Flower Facial Scrubbies

Welcome to the March Sustainable Pinterest Challenge hosted by Julie from Sum of Their Stories & Gail from Purple Hues and Me. For this month's challenge, we are using inspiration from Pinterest to create something floral that is sustainable/eco-friendly.  So I decided that I wanted to make a few crochet facial scrubbies that look like flowers. After searching Pinterest, I found this Pin, and followed the pattern on the blog to create my own Flower Facial Scrubbies. Reusable facial scrubbies are eco-friendly because you can use them instead of disposable makeup remover pads and other types of disposable facial pads. I've always wanted to make facial pads to use instead of disposable acne pads. Instead of throwing them in the trash, you wash them with your laundry.
To create the Flower Facial Scrubbies, I used:

I followed the pattern from the Pin. The pattern is worked in the round without joining, so I used a cute heart-shaped lock and key stitch marker to make the beginning of the row. The pattern says to use a H/5mm crochet hook, but I used a G/4mm crochet hook.

Here's what the base of the flower looks like.

Next, I followed the instructions in the pattern to attach the yarn in the very first stitch and start the petals.

Finished!

After making one, I had the pattern memorized. I decided to crochet 3 more.

I placed the scrubbies in a Rae Dunn WASH dish and put them on my bathroom sink. I actually used one last night, and I really liked it! Next, I want to make a crochet loofah.

    1. I do have an Etsy shop, but I usually only sale scarves. I may consider adding other items soon.
